Founded in 2023, we try our best to provide honest and factual content. This includes the privacy policy you’re reading right now.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and their browser user agent to with help spam detection.
We send Gravatar an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) to see if you are using their service. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public along with your comment. As far as we’re aware, this process is respectful of privacy.
Media
For your privacy, if you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. This is so you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. Cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain personal data and closing your browser will delete it.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, login cookies will persist for two weeks. Logging out of your account will delete the login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, your browser will create another cookie. This cookie includes no personal data and simply identifies the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

If you use the search bar on our site, we will collect the words used in the search, the page you were on when you made the search, and the date of the search.
This information does not include your IP address, or any personal information, for that matter.
We keep this data indefinitely, and thus do not discard it.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, the reset email will include your IP address.
How long we keep your data
We keep all comments and metadata they contain indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we must keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Out of necessity, we filter comments through an automated spam detection service.
We do our best to only use services that respect privacy, and plan to switch if we ever find a service collecting any personal information.
